How the house works

Shared rooms. Shared meals. Shared responsibility.

Rooms have roughly four beds. Early responders can request roommates and we’ll do our best to make sensible matches.

The stay is self-catered. We’ll organise shopping and cooking in small teams so nobody spends the entire holiday washing twenty-eight plates.

Good things to know.

What are the exact dates?

The main stay is 27 December 2026 to 2 January 2027: six nights. There may be an option to extend until 3 January; confirm this with the organisers before making plans.

Do I need to hike or ski every day?

No. Plans will split according to interest, conditions and energy. You are welcome to choose a quieter day, but everyone is responsible for making sensible plans and communicating them.

How are rooms organised?

Expect shared rooms with about four beds. We’ll collect roommate preferences and try to make everybody comfortable within the limits of the house.

Is food included?

No. We’ll shop and prepare meals together, with costs shared separately. Nesselwang has shops and restaurants about 1 km from the house.

How do I get there?

Nesselwang is roughly 1 hour 45 minutes from Munich by car. Carpooling will be organised closer to the date. The nearest useful rail connections are around Nesselwang/Pfronten; coordinate your final connection with the group.

How do I secure my place?

Tell one of the organisers you are in. Payment details will be shared directly once your place is confirmed. Please do not count yourself confirmed until that step is complete.

Is this a guided trip?

No. We are friends and hiking buddies travelling together. Everyone is responsible for researching activities, judging conditions, bringing suitable equipment and knowing their own limits.
